Straight for good, or only less frizz?
The salon does four treatments that take hair straighter. They differ in how much wave they leave and how long it lasts. Permanent straightening is the one at the straight end.

Not sure which one? Your stylist looks at your hair at the free consultation and tells you.
How permanent is permanent?
Permanent straightening, also called a straight perm or thermal reconditioning, reshapes the bonds inside each hair. Hair that has been treated stays straight until you cut it off.
What it can’t change is the hair you haven’t grown yet. New growth comes in with your natural texture, so you come back for the roots, not the whole head. How often depends on how fast your hair grows, and your stylist will talk you through it.
Day one
Straight from root to tip. No flat iron in the morning.
As it grows
New hair grows in with your natural wave or curl. The straightened length below it stays straight.
Root touch-up
Only the new growth is treated, so the length isn’t processed twice.
Is it right for your hair?
Chemical hair straightening suits a lot of hair, but not all of it. That’s why every appointment starts with a consultation and a look at a strand.

Usually a good fit
You straighten it every day
If the flat iron comes out every morning, a permanent treatment does that job once.
Frizz, wave or loose curls
Hair that fights you in humid weather, or that puffs up as soon as it dries.
You want it straight, not just less frizzy
If you’d still like some wave, a keratin treatment or a Brazilian Blowout keeps more of it.
Tell us first
Bleached, lightened or recently colored
Lightened hair and straightening chemicals don’t always mix. Your stylist checks before deciding.
A relaxer, perm or keratin already in
Some treatments can’t go over others. Tell us what’s in your hair and when it was done.
How the straightening treatment goes
Book this one ahead rather than walking in. Your stylist tells you at the consultation how much time to set aside.
Consultation
Your stylist looks at your hair, asks what’s been done to it and confirms the price.
Straightening cream
Applied section by section and left to soften the bonds, then rinsed out.
Blow-dry and flat iron
Dried, then pressed straight in fine sections. This is the step that sets the shape.
Neutralize and finish
A neutralizer locks the straight shape in, then a rinse and a final blow-dry.
The first 72 hours
The shape is still settling for about three days. This is the usual advice, and your stylist will give you yours before you leave.
- Don’t wash itKeep it dry, and skip the gym and the pool if you can.
- Don’t tie it upNo ponytails, clips, headbands or hats that leave a dent.
- Don’t tuck it behind your earsA bend now can stay as a bend.
- After thatWash with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and let it fall straight.

How much does permanent hair straightening cost?
From $60 here. The final price depends on your hair, and your stylist confirms it at a free consultation before any work begins.
How long does permanent hair straightening last?
The hair that’s treated stays straight until it’s cut off. New growth comes in with your natural texture, so you come back to have the roots done. How often depends on how fast your hair grows.
What’s the difference between keratin and Japanese hair straightening?
A keratin treatment softens frizz and fades over time, so the wave slowly comes back. Japanese straightening changes the bonds inside the hair, so the treated length stays straight. Keratin is for less frizz; Japanese straightening is for straight hair.
Which is better, a Brazilian Blowout or Japanese straightening?
It depends on what you want to keep. A Brazilian Blowout tames frizz and keeps body and movement for around 10 to 12 weeks. Japanese straightening is permanent and leaves hair straight. If you’re unsure, the consultation is free.
Is Japanese hair straightening bad for your hair?
It’s a chemical treatment, so it isn’t right for every head of hair. Bleached, very fragile or recently relaxed hair may not take it well. That’s why your stylist checks your hair first, and why the aftercare matters for the first three days.
Is a straight perm the same as Japanese straightening?
They’re names for the same kind of permanent, chemical hair straightening, where a cream and a flat iron reshape the hair. You may also see it called thermal reconditioning or hair rebonding. A hair relaxer is different and is meant for tightly coiled hair.
Do I need an appointment?
For the treatment, yes, so Book now. For a consultation, call or drop in any day.
Are you open on Sunday?
Yes, 10 AM to 5 PM, every Sunday. We’re also open Monday to Thursday 10 to 7, Friday 9:30 to 7, and Saturday 9:30 to 6.
